The SEMO Little Theater Group, Inc. was formed as a State non profit organization in 1985 with the purpose of bringing live theater to the area.  
 

In addition to its stage presentations, the group has presented short skits, plays, and readings to grade school classes and has presented readings at the Dunklin County Library and participated in the Library’s Summer Reading Program. The group has also provided entertainment at Christmas parties for local businesses. Each year, since 1990, we have presented an annual cash award to a Kennett High School Senior.
 

Several years the group presented a Variety show on Thanksgiving weekend, titled Encore, featuring past recipients of the SEMO Little Theater’s - Terrence Van Hunter Memorial Award for the Performing Arts and Friends.
